Deaf Ministry

Started approximately 20 years ago as a ministry to the Deaf, First Baptist Church of Lapeer has given the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who may never have heard it otherwise.  Today, First Baptist Church has several exciting opportunities to learn and grow from the Word of God for the Deaf and their families (Mark 16:15).

Sunday School Class for the Deaf

Teaching the basic fundamental doctrines of the Bible in ASL and the opportunity to pray and share our needs together in order to grow in Christian Faith (Romans 10:17).

Church Services

Our services are interpreted with the use of sign language to enable corporate worship and to glorify Jesus Christ (Hebrews 10:25).

Awana Ministries

Interpreted for children to include Bible stories, Doctrines, and Scripture memory to build a Biblical foundation for our children (Mark 10:14).

Sign Language Class

Taught in ASL to include: signs, finger spelling, and Deaf culture every Wednesday from 3:00-4:00 in order to give those interested the opportunity to explore possible service for God in this wonderful ministry.
