First Baptist Church is home to a number of diversified events that reach out to the lost and bring brothers and sisters in Christ together in worship.
"Portrait of a Woman"
Women's Conference
First Baptist Church of Lapeer
Saturday, March 31, 2012
8:30 am to 3:45 pm
$10 before March 23rd ($15 after)
The invitation is open to all teen girls & women! We do think that you will enjoy the conference more if you are already a believer in Jesus Christ and concerned about glorifying Him with your life. But if you are curious to learn more about Jesus Christ and wondering what kind of answers you might be able to find for the difficult questions of life — this would be a great opportunity to meet other women who have been through a lot and found in God all that they were looking for!
Be prepared for a casual & relaxing day!
Unfortunately we are not able to provide childcare; we do want to accommodate nursing mothers. If you have a baby who is nursing, please let us know whether you plan to have him or her with you for the conference.

In 1978, she married Bruce Ware, and then worked in various jobs to put him through school. He is a professor of theology at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Bruce and Jodi have two daughters. Bethany is married to Owen Strachan, a professor at Boyce College, and they have a three-year-old daughter, Ella, and ten-month-old son Gavin. Rachel graduated from Union University (Jackson, Tennessee), and is working there in campus ministries. Jodi is involved in the music ministry and women's ministry at their church, Clifton Baptist, in Louisville. She also works with the Seminary Wives Institute (registrar and teacher), and the Faculty Wives at Southern. She loves walking, reading, playing the piano, and meeting one-on-one with women, engaging in "conversational ministry."
Mrs. Holly Stratton
Wife of Dr. Richard Stratton, president of Clearwater Christian College, Mrs. Holly Stratton often speaks at various women's and church groups throughout the country. Mrs. Stratton earned a bachelor's degree at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, and a master's degree at the University of Georgia. With studies in both home economics education and child and family development, she has taught family and personal management courses on the college level. In addition to her teaching, she has developed a counseling ministry, especially to college students. Mrs. Stratton sees her major responsibility, however, as one of supporting her husband in his role as college president. As the mother of two, Mrs. Stratton home schools 11-year-old daughter Maycee while Michael, who is 18 years old, attends a nearby Christian school. Along with her family, Mrs. Stratton is a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida.

On Sunday evenings at 5PM throughout the winter, we welcome guest speakers from across Southeast Michigan. These pastors and Bible scholars will address varying topics related to Scripture, theology, the Christian life, and church ministry.
