The youth ministry at First Baptist Church of Lapeer exists to influence teens to magnify the splendor of God by loving the Lord with all their hearts, minds, and strength and by loving others as they love themselves (Matthew 22:36-40).
To this end, the youth ministry strives to provide an organized ministry in which godly adults influence youth for God’s glory by seeking to nurture (1) a growing intimacy with Christ, (2) the loving service of others, and (3) the faithful evangelization of the lost.
Our method is simple: model holiness, build relationships, teach Scripture, and worship God together. As teens gather to study God's Word, discipleship relationships are prayerfully sought through small groups and recreational opportunities. The involvement of parents and the larger church family is emphasized and encouraged as the goal of discipleship within (not apart from) the church family is pursued.
